nWWWo Defeats WCW; Breaks Up

TOLEDO, OHIO -- On 01 March 2000, upon having determined to have vanquished World Championship Wrestling, the New World Wide Web Order has decided to split up of its own free will.

The landscape of professional wrestling Websites having changed since the nWWWo's launch on 22 October 1997, and its various members having other items to pay more attention to these days, including paying positions on other Websites, the group has decided that it has served its purpose, and would rather retire itself than continue to exist in a lesser form.

While some fans of the nWWWo have requested the group remain intact, with new writers replacing the old ones, the group decided that it would rather terminate, as other fans of the nWWWo may not be so welcoming of the new columnists.  Currently there are other sites such as Rantsylvania's Rant Crew where new up and coming wrestling writers are earning their stripes.

Sean Shannon, founder and leader of the nWWWo, read the following prepared statement at a press conference: "On behalf of the rest of the New World Wide Web Order, I would like to thank all of our readers for visiting nWWWo.com and reading our material.  We hope you will all continue to see us on our other sites and follow our work.  It was a long, strange two-plus years, but it was a rewarding journey.

"While many, including myself, were sad to see the nWWWo close up shop, I think maybe it's best if we instead remember the good of the nWWWo.  None of us are leaving the world of online wrestling; it's just that we will be active in other places now.   The nWWWo was created with the intent to take over the Internet, and to expose WCW.   Certainly the nWWWo has inspired a number of wrestling writers, and spawned off a number of Websites in our mold.  And as for WCW, their continued existence at this point is a mere technicality, as anyone can plainly see the promotion is on its last legs, and continues to try to shoot itself in the foot.

"So be not sad at the end of the nWWWo.  We fought a long, hard battle, and we won.  And while the vessel may be retired, its soldiers will continue to fight the good fights.  Let us remember the nWWWo for what she was, and look forward to a bold new future, with fresh, glorious battles to be fought."
